Thank you for your interest in becoming certified as an Intercompany Arbitrator. The requirements to take the tests to become a Certified Arbitrator are: • Minimum of 3 years liability claims experience • Supervisory approval and permission to attend assigned hearings (generally 1 per month). The Certification Process consists of 3 components. 1. 25-question Claims Knowledge Exam (Auto Liability or General Liability) 2. 25-question Forum Exam on the applicable AF program in which you wish to hear cases. 3. Case Simulations – 3 cases that you will review and render decisions. For Special Arbitration, there are three certifications to choose from: Auto Liability, General Liability, and Construction Defect. Depending on your claims background and experience, you may choose to be certified in one, two or all. Upon successful completion of the process you will be given the following the designation: Certified Special Arbitrator Auto Liability (CSAA), Certified Special Arbitrator General Liability (CSAG), or Certified Special Arbitrator Construction Defect (CSAC).
